Target has also started charging customers for begs, like Walmart and Kroger.

Target has recently announced that they will be charging customers for plastic bags for Drive Up and Order Pickup orders.

The charge will be $1 per every 10 bags used, which equates to about 10 cents per bag.

This policy only affects Target pickup orders, and in-store runs won’t be affected by this new charging system.

Customers ordering online will be assumed to have agreed to the additional charge and use of plastic bags, but they do have the option to deny bags at the time of pickup.

The charge may not show up on the receipt via the app, but the final invoice will reflect the surcharge,

as well as any applicable refund if the customer uses less than 10 bags with their purchase.

The charge will differentiate based on state and local laws, particularly for states that have already banned the use of plastic bags.

For example, New York state issued a statewide plastic bag ban and allows counties to impose a 5-cent fee for paper bag use at stores.

Big stores such as Target will actually sell reusable bags at checkout in case customers forgot to bring their own.

Customers can avoid the charge by declining the use of plastic bags at the time of pickup, and they can bring their own reusable grocery bags to pick up their order.

This charge is also only for pickup orders, not for in-store purchases.

Overall, this new charging system is part of Target’s commitment to sustainability and reducing their environmental impact.

By encouraging customers to bring their own reusable bags and reducing plastic waste, Target is taking steps towards a more eco-friendly future.
